Imagine if you were so devoted to your work that you created an organization called Project Angel Faces. Really, sit with that for a moment. Think of your work. What would you call your work if you were creating an organization?
With my organization, ServingSuccess, I view my work as “dedicated to your success.” I feel good about that, yet I am continually meeting people who cause me to pause and stand in awe of what they have devoted their lives and their work to. I stand in awe mostly because I have never been driven by non-profit endeavors. I prefer to make money and donate it to organizations whose work I support.
Yet it is always the founders of non-profit endeavors that cause me stand in awe. My TEDxUNLV involvement has introduced me to Adam Braun and Pencils of Promise, and I stood in awe. Then this week going to a live viewing of TEDxManhattan allowed to meet a local Las Vegas heroine: Rhonda Killough, and learn about her organization, www.ProjectAngelFaces.org
Her mission and endeavor is incredible not because she created something, but because she was creative enough to design a system to pre-purpose what was already available and underused. Most of all, I was in awe because she created her organization that is doing so much good as the direct result of a paralyzing motorcycle experience just prior to her 30th birthday. In the end, her physical therapist’s guidance to create a garden has grown in 10 years to an organization that feeds fresh fruits and vegetables to seniors and youth in Las Vegas.
From tragedy to triumph in 10 years….That is a project that any angel would be proud to have its face on! Check out the complete story at www.ProjetAngelFaces.org
