Follow up and Connections

Dr. Success Challenge: Is there someone — or a host of someones — who you need to follow up with but have been avoiding?  Is there a connection you need to make that you have  been procrastinating actually making?  I am writing today from Nike territory, so the only guidance I can share is:  Just Do It!

I will share with you two follow up connections that occurred as a result of my last two blog posts.

Leaders Open Doors by Bill Treasurer:  I received this message this morning from Bill…

As you know, the intent of the book is to help leaders become more attentive to the people they lead. Leaders Open Doors has another important purpose too. 100% of the royalties from the sales of the book are being donated to programs that support children with special needs.

And I’m pleased to announce that the first royalty donation went to the Irene Wortham Center. They received over $2000 because of the sales you helped generate. Because of you, the book is literally opening doors for people!

Up Ups Community and Health:  From Liz Baldizan, Ed.D, Executive Director of UNLV Community2Campus, I received the this follow-up message:

Always enjoy your messages. Thought it was timely to share with you—
Having done a marathon yesterday–no way would it have been possible without Ricardo, a close group of ‘ya ya’s’ and family. To my surprise at the finish was my grandson.
Over and over, to me, ‘ethics in action resonates’.

Did I benefit directly from writing and publishing these two posts?  From a bottom line perspective, no.  From a well-being and happiness perspective, hell yes! That is how building community works to enhance your life.

You never know when a follow up you make or a connection you start can impact someone’s life.  Why not start the possibility rolling by cleaning up a few of those items on your list.

Enjoy your weekend.  Thank you, Andrea
