Be Brave – Transform Fear

By Andrea Goeglein

Don’t Die™ Waiting to Be Brave was my 2015 story.

2016 was all about teaching how to stop waiting.

In 2017, I finally learned what I invested 2016 teaching – I stopped waiting and got focused.  I learned from all the teaching I did that the only way to be brave was to transform fear.  This is how I now think of all fear:

F        Focused

E         Energy

A          Action

R          Result

To really be brave, we must transform all fear with Focused Energy and focused Action to achieve our focused Results.  Not necessarily the results we expected, but results that show we have stopped denying reality AND we were brave enough to defy reality.  Fear starts in our thoughts and is transformed when we focus our thoughts.

The Wisdom of A Yearbook

What did you write as the caption under your yearbook photo?  What can your younger self teach your more mature self today?

In 1973, the caption I wrote in my yearbook under my high school graduation photo was:  Each ending is a new beginning.  I suggest you pause and go back and see what you wrote in your yearbook.

Endings and Beginnings

2017 ushered in the end of my Dad’s life on earth, the marriage of our daughter, and the creation of a working model for my work in 2018.

I did not create this graph willingly.  Actually, I hired a professional to organize over a decade of my thinking and she forced me to do the work.  I did it resentfully, and in the end, her not doing what I thought I had hired her for, was the greatest gift I could have ever given myself.  In the short time we worked together, there were numerous ‘endings and beginnings.’ In the end, I made a decision to stop our working relationship.  However, I will be forever grateful she came into my life.

The real key to transforming fear is taking your thoughts off what you are afraid of and instead focusing your thought-energy, attention and action on the results you do want.  Let me say that again a little differently:

The real key to transforming fear is taking your thoughts off what you fear and do not want in your life and instead focusing your thought-energy, attention and action on the results you do want in your life.

2017 is ending.  2018 is a new beginning.  My wish for you?  May you focus your thoughts only on the greatness you are creating in your life.  Trust me, I am only teaching you what I need to learn.

May your health be your greatest wealth in 2018 and beyond,

Andrea

  1. Andrea, great reminder for us all. I find that if I am not constantly watching my mind it slips automatically into unconsciousness….and then it starts fretting over what I am afraid of, or what I don’t want. To remain more awake and aware than ever before is my intention for 2018.
