Responsibility

Recently a client missed an appointment with me.  Clients that work with me know two things about missed appointments:  1) they cost the same as the investment in keeping an appointment with me, and 2) a missed appointment is an indication that they are attempting to avoid facing something.

Not surprising, the client was suppose to come to the appointment with a plan for a potential merger, complete with terms for what she viewed as a fair market value for her services and her current business.

There is a saying in the self-help community that I don’t know who first said but it is one of the many ‘truths’ born out in experience:

Your self-worth equals your net-worth.

Dr. Success Challenge:  Look back on appoints you have ‘missed’.  What were you trying to tell yourself about an emotional growth opportunity?  What do you have to forgive yourself for in order to allow the growth to take place?

P.S.:  The photo of her hand with an appointment written on it was sent to me to prove she was working on her plan and would not miss the next appointment.
